Viking has announced the upcoming addition of Viking Lyra, set to join the ocean fleet in 2028. This comes shortly after welcoming their newest ship, Viking Vesta. With Viking Lyra’s arrival, the Viking ocean fleet will grow to 15 ships. Following in the footsteps of Viking Libra, Lyra will be one of the world’s first hydrogen-powered ships capable of operating with zero emissions.

Viking Lyra Features
The Viking Lyra has an abundance of stylish features onboard that will make your journey feel even more special. Viking’s new fleet of sister ships are purpose-built at a scale that allows direct access into small and large ports alike. Think stunning shores in the British Isles to the vibrant ports of Spain.
Onboard, all 998 guests have access to top-of-the-line facilities, delicious restaurants and spacious living quarters. On Deck 9 (the top deck), you’ll find the outdoor gym and yoga area available for use- perfect for the Summer months! Other facilities onboard include an infinity pool (and a main pool), hot tub, several specialty dining experiences, common lounges, self-serve laundrettes, a theatre, cinemas, a fitness centre and Nordic Spa, as well as lounging bars.
Across several of the decks are 6 different types of staterooms to choose from. The lead in cabin is the standard Veranda Stateroom (288 sq ft) which still includes a private veranda, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a king-size Viking Explorer bed + luxury linens. If you’re keen on the top-of-the-line suite, you’ll be in the 1,488 sq ft multi room Owner’s Suite. With an expansive private veranda, multiple rooms, private library, plus wine and music collections curated by Chairman Torstein Hagen. Guests in this suite will have first priority on shore excursions and spa treatments and a large master bathroom with spacious glass-enclosed shower, double-sink vanity, heated floor, anti-fog mirror and hair dryer, plus two guest bathrooms. 2027 and 2028 Ocean Bookings
If you like to jump ahead of the line and lock in your travel plans early, Viking have just opened up their 2027 and 2028 ocean and expedition cruise bookings. Plus, they have introduced some new sailings, such as the new 15 day Into the Antarctic Circle itinerary. It takes guests across the Antarctic Circle, venturing to 66°33′ latitude into the untouched polar world of the “White Continent,” a region visited by only a rare few.
The Viking Lyra will be sailing on new itineraries across Europe. These include voyages through Spain and Portugal, Iberia and England, the British Isles and Ireland and through the Adriatic.
