DAY 1 – SKOPJE, NORTH MACEDONIA
The nation of North Macedonia offers a blend of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, dynamic scenery and a vibrant culture rivaling those of any European destination, yet remains a lessfrequented corner of the continent. Its capital, Skopje, with its Dardanian and Roman-era archaeological sites, Byzantine churches and monasteries, and spectacular statues and monuments, is a history-lover’s dream.

DAY 2 – SKOPJE
Explore Skopje with a local expert, visiting the Old Town, Mustapha Pasha Mosque, Holy Savior Church and the Memorial House of Mother Teresa, witnessing the diversity of Macedonia’s coexistent religious heritage. Celebrate its culinary treasures, too, as you partake in a wine tasting in the ancient town of Stobi and eat lunch in one of Macedonia’s best wineries. Tour the nearby Stobi Archaeological Site before driving to Bitola, once a thriving center of the Ottoman Empire. Walk along Shirok Sokak, a street lined with architectural splendors, passing the Isak Celebi Mosque, Yeni Mosque and the Clock Tower before continuing to Ohrid.

Explore Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage site, starting with the Church of Saint Sophia, renowned for its stunning frescoes. Walk the picturesque Kaneo area before cruising Lake Ohrid at sunset, viewing Ohrid’s enchanting old town with a refreshing drink in hand.

DAY 4 – KORCA, ALBANIA
From smooth white-sand beaches to jagged Alpine peaks, Albania’s landscapes provide a dramatic backdrop for exploring its rich history and culture. Well-preserved remnants of the Ottoman Empire are found along with Byzantine churches, in cobblestoned towns where visitors are welcomed with flavorful dishes and easygoing hospitality. Korca is considered the cultural heart of southeastern Albania. Explore its Old Bazaar and visit the National Medieval Art Museum. At a local restaurant, partake in a hands-on cooking class led by a chef who once cooked for a U.S. president. Share the delightful meal you created together before continuing to Gjirokastra, driving through the picturesque village of Germenji as well as pristine Vjosa River National Park.

DAY 5 – GJIROKASTRA
Experience UNESCO-listed Gjirokastra, often referred to as the “City of Stones” for the local limestone and slate quarried to make its historic landmarks. DAY 6 – BUTRINT

DAY 7 – LLOGARA NATIONAL PARK, BERAT

Walk in Julius Caesar’s path, absorbing amazing views, while your guide brings to life the Roman Civil War, which took place here more than 20 centuries ago. Over lunch at a local restaurant, listen to an Iso-Polifonia music show, recognized by UNESCO as part of the area’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. Finish at Apollonia Archaeological Park, where ancient ruins are a testament to the region’s multi-layered past.

DAY 8 – BERAT
Explore Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage city nicknamed “The Town of a Thousand Windows,” a nod to the large-windowed Ottoman-style houses stacked along its hillsides. Also visit the beautiful Et’hem Bey Mosque, a symbol of the city’s cultural heritage. Tonight, gather for a farewell dinner and cocktail.
