Our Tour + Cruise Manager, Genevieve, recently boarded the Silversea Cruises Silver Nova on a 6-day journey through Adelaide to Sydney.
Being the newest ship that joined the fleet in 2023, the Silver Nova only has room for 728 guests. Its asymmetrical design offers an immersive destination experience for all guests to enjoy panoramic views.
Silversea Cruises offer all-inclusive luxury sailing and a range of itineraries to all 7 continents.
Silver Nova Welcome and Boarding
From the moment I stepped onboard one of the brand new ships to Silversea Cruises, I was personally welcomed with warm smiles. Then I was taken to the check in area for a relatively quick procedure of setting up suite accounts. I then made my way to my Premium Veranda Suite.
I was welcomed by my personal butler who showed me around the suite. The butler offered to unpack my suitcase and shared information on the all new suite experiences on offer. These include an Otium shower experience with shower steamers, champagne, candles (fake) and a curated playlist with speakers provided. Alternatively, I could also choose to indulge in a “balcony experience” or a Otium bathing experience.
Silver Nova Cabin and Suites
The Premium Veranda Suite had the most comfortable beds, with a pillow menu designed to ensure that all guests have the best sleep whilst onboard. There were plenty of movies on offer in-suite which was delightful! Afternoon caviar and champagne (at no charge) could be requested at any time with your private butler. The suite had a lounge area with a coffee table that could be converted to a dining table for room service if guests choose to stay in for the night. The suites in general were a great size.
Hot tip: if you’d like a bath please request this when you book as not all suites have them.
Common Areas Onboard the Silversea Cruises Silver Nova
Whilst the ship carries 728 guests, at no time were there any line ups. There were plenty of private “quiet” areas around the ship to relax and rejuvenate. The only waitlist I encountered was at the FOC “Silvernote Restaurant”, due to the intimate nature of the restaurant with a grand piano; this is one all guests need to pre-book 120 days prior to sailing.
What I loved about the new Silversea Cruises Silver Nova is that she has been built with public areas onboard facing outwards as compared to most cruise lines where public areas face inwards. This means that when you are relaxing by the pool you are actually looking out towards the views. Entertainment onboard included lectures, stage shows of an evening, dance classes, roving musicians and evenings where there was a brass band playing by the pool.
Dining on the Silversea Cruises Silver Nova
The majority of restaurants onboard are included in the fare with the exception of La Dame (French cuisine) and Kaiseki (Japanese cuisine, free during lunch service). The cuisine was amazing, the only buffet I experienced was the “Seafood Extravaganza” which was next level. Some highlights of the menu included lobster, crab, prawns, sashimi and every possible seafood delicacy that you could imagine.
There are more casual posts such as The Dusk Bar, S.A.L.T Kitchen and Spaccanapoli that feature on the Silversea Cruises Silver Nova’s ten bars and nine dining venues. You truly will be spoilt for choice.
Silversea Cruises Silver Nova Summary
Silver Nova was a beautiful, ultra modern ship with personalised service and a very serene feeling onboard. I appreciated the layout of the ship, as it brought in uninterrupted views from each space. This all-inclusive experience felt personalised and luxurious with incredible suites, fine dining and the excursions.
