Itinerary Days 1-7 +
DAY 1 – VENICE
Arrive at Venice Marco Polo International Airport, where you will be transferred to the ship. Unpack, relax and enjoy your first evening on the Venetian Lagoon.
DAY 2 – VENICE
With your early morning arrival at Doge’s Palace, you’ll be able to marvel at the estate in total peace. Wander through a Venetian neighborhood and experience daily life in an authentic Venetian residential quarter. Later in the evening, cap the day off with a private once-in-a-lifetime experience at an after-hours lighting ceremony inside St. Mark’s Basilica without the crowds.
DAY 3 – VENICE (PADUA), MAZZORBO (BURANO)
Start your morning in one of two of the Veneto region’s UNESCO World Heritage cities, Vicenza or Padua. In the afternoon, you’ll reboard the ship for scenic sailing across the lagoon as we head towards Mazzorbo and Burano. In the evening, you may wish to take your free time to stroll into town to appreciate this charming island when most of the tourists have left for the evening. Burano’s brightly painted fishermen’s cottages are an artist’s dream —hot pink, chartreuse, orange, lemon yellow, and more.
A special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you this evening.
DAY 4 – MAZZORBO, BURANO, CHIOGGIA
Spend the day exploring the northern lagoon of Venice and its captivating islands. Start with a visit to Torcello’s famous basilica with an art historian, then stroll through the agricultural island of Mazzorbo and the rainbow-hued island of Burano during your free time after lunch. Alternatively, you can take the afternoon to see the renowned glassblowing artisans of Murano at work.
DAY 5 – CHIOGGIA
Today, you’ll admire the greatest sites of charming and coastal Chioggia, including a stop at the local and lively market.
DAY 6 – CHIOGGIA, VENICE
This morning, join a sailing excursion where you’ll explore the Po Delta where the Po River and the Adriatic Sea meet. Later, during lunch, we sail back to Venice.
DAY 7 – VENICE
As your water taxi glides past narrow side canals and the Canal Grande, you’ll arrive in style at the Rialto Bridge. The iconic stone arch bridge sits at the narrowest point of the Canal Grande and holds numerous shops and restaurants.
A special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you this evening.
Itinerary Days 8-15 +
DAY 8 – VENICE (DISEMBARK), FUSINA (EMBARK SEABOURN)
It’s time to say goodbye to the S.S. La Venezia and make your way to Fusina to board the Seabourn Quest. Nestled along the breathtaking Venetian Lagoon, Fusina, Italy, is a picturesque port town with distinct charm and sophistication. Over the next week, you’ll revel in the luxurious amenities offered by the Seabourn Quest: a multitude of exceptional dining venues and bars, a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center, an onboard casino, and sun deck pools.
DAY 9 – VODICE
The Croatian town of Vodice features the familiar, red-tiled roofs and wide, stone seaside promenades of other Dalmatian ports. Beauty and history lurk around every corner, from historic churches and Roman-era ruins to attractive pebble beaches. Vodice is also an easy jumping point from which to access nearby hotspots, such as the seaside town of Šibenik, the waterfalls and pools of Krka National Park, and the offshore islands of the Kornati National Park.
DAY 10 – KOTOR
Kotor, Montenegro, is a town of medieval architecture and historic monuments, influenced by its time under the rule of the Republic of Venice. Set against a backdrop of majestic mountains, the scenery is second to none, so be sure to keep your camera handy. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Adriatic.
In the afternoon, we’ll set out on a scenic sailing of the winding Bay of Kotor—really a series of broader bays, linked by narrow straits. The bay is world-renowned for the breathtaking scale of its setting, cradled between two towering, rugged massifs of the Dinaric Alps, the Orjen Mountains on the west and the Lovcen on the east. At its narrowest point, the Verige Strait, it is just 340 meters wide.
DAY 11 – CORFU
A scant few miles off the Albanian coast lies the island of Corfu, one of the most richly endowed of all the Greek Isles. Praised by Homer in “The Odyssey” and selected by Shakespeare as the setting for “The Tempest,” the island retains evidence of cultural heritage from each of its past rulers—Byzantium, Venice, France, Russia, and Great Britain. Rolling acres of olive groves and small orchards of citrus trees lend a lush, verdant look to the island.
DAY 12 – SAMI
Sami is our gateway to Cephalonia. The largest of the Ionian islands, Cephalonia is a gorgeous natural wonderland of turquoise beaches, caves, and forests. Branch out to explore the island or stay close to port to enjoy the picturesque Antisamos beach or the ruins of ancient Sami, where visitors will find a fascinating site consisting of artifacts spanning several different civilizations over thousands of years.
DAY 13 – DAY AT SEA
As we skirt the western coast of Greece today, making our way from the Ionian Sea to the Aegean, enjoy a relaxing day at sea. Take advantage of the Mediterranean scenery by taking a dip in one of the sun deck whirlpools. Indulge in a drink with a view at the Observation bar. Have some fun at the Casino. Dine on award-winning fare. The choice is yours!
DAY 14 – NAFPLION
Held to be one of the loveliest small towns in Greece, Nafplion has a tradition and culture all its own. The sheltered location, below a rocky headland crowned by a Venetian fortress, is perhaps unrivaled in Greece. After the Greek revolution of the early 19th century, Nafplion served as the first modern capital. The neoclassical houses, large official buildings, and carefully planned seafront streets all date from this period.
DAY 15 – PIRAEUS (ATHENS)
Piraeus has been the port for Athens since 482 BC. The busy harbor is filled with ferries and cruise ships making their way to the Greek Islands and other Mediterranean cities. The busy metropolis of Athens and its treasure trove of antiquities lie just a few miles from the port. Even as the reality of the modern city took hold, with its high-rise apartments, crowded sidewalks and bustling traffic, the beauty of the Acropolis, the outstanding museums, charming cafés, sidewalk markets, and startling views come together in a cultural mosaic for all to enjoy.
If your cruise package includes a group departure transfer or if you have purchased a private departure transfer, you will be transferred to Athens International Airport for your flight home.
Luxury aboard S.S. Venezia & Seabourn Quest +
S.S. LA VENEZIA
The River Countess underwent a complete design renovation in 2020, debuting as the S.S. La Venezia to bring guests an enhanced luxury experience inspired by Northern Italy. The redesign of the ship drew influence from the fine Fortuny fabrics displayed prominently onboard. Murano glass, gilded accents, and artistic etched elements pay homage to popular Venetian aesthetics of the early 20th century, creating an onboard atmosphere that is at once elegant and nostalgic.
SEABOURN QUEST
Seabourn Quest is the third iteration of the vessel design that has been called “a game-changer for the luxury segment.” True to her Seabourn bloodlines, wherever she sails around the world Seabourn Quest carries with her a bevy of award-winning dining venues that are comparable to the finest restaurants to be found anywhere.
