What to Expect With Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity Cruises have pushed the limits when it comes to your average river cruise. Debuting in 2027 will be Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, taking on the Rhine and Danube rivers. These vessels promise more outdoor space, dramatic dining pods and a cabin design that attempts to blend inside and out. With elements drawn from Celebrity’s ‘Edge Series’ ocean liners, the company will introduce features never seen before on the rivers.
Maximum Outdoor Space
The amount of open deck space is definitely one of the most striking features. With traditional river ships reserving their roof decks for activity, Celebrity has planned something a bit more extravagant. Guests can expect an infinity-edge plunge pool and versatile spaces designed for year-round use. The 360-degree river views are another element worth noting.
Decadent Dining
Influenced by the ‘Magic Carpet’ on the cruise line’s latest ocean ships, Celebrity Cruises plans to implement a similar design to its river ships. The ‘Magic Edge’ cantilevered pods will hang over the side of the ship, offering an experimental dining experience.
Celebrity Cruises is promising more choice than any current river vessel, with eight dining and bar options. Expect a couple familiar favourites borrowed from the ocean fleet, like the Martini Bar and Café al Bacio. Enjoy round-the-clock dining, where set mealtimes remain the norm on traditional river cruises.
Cabins Like No Other
Proven controversial on its ocean ships, the cruise line’s ‘Infinite Veranda’ concept is back. If you’re not aware, these cabins have floor-to-ceiling glass that can slide down at the push of a button, blurring the line between indoors and outdoors. It offers more living space plus uninterrupted views of the ocean, but you aren’t able to step outside. Alas, Celebrity is planning king-sized beds in each stateroom and the ‘most in-room amenities on the river’.
Each room will have complimentary stocked mini bars, plus some come with a skylight for extra natural light. Suite guests will also have complimentary butler services, room services, complimentary laundry and happy hour experiences, included in their fare.
Celebrity’s River Itineraries
Celebrity Cruises will be sailing the Rhine and the Danube, offering 33 initial sailings. Celebrate Christmas along the Danube with a journey from Budapest to Nuremberg. Or explore the grandeur of Budapest and the charm of Bavaria. Each 7 night sailing will bring you to the most iconic destinations, with a bunch of shore excursions to go with it. Whether that’s a private wine tasting in Austria, or a visit to the thermal baths in Budapest.
Both new ships are expected to begin sailing the Rhine and Danube in 2027. Although early access has already sold out, deposit holders will be able to make their voyage selections beginning September 10th. Don’t worry- 2027 sailings will be available to book soon.
