What New Ships Has Scenic Group Announced?
Emerald Nova
The Emerald Nova will launch in June of 2027. What’s unique about this ship is the fact that it was actually purpose-built for the Douro River, where it will make its debut. This vessel joins the Emerald Radiance in Portugal. Albeit with a longer itinerary that offers deeper immersion into the region. The Emerald Nova will operate two itineraries to give guests more choice and flexibility. Explore vibrant cities and vineyard landscapes, complemented by guided hikes and kayaking.
Scenic Aria
Launching in September 2027, also on the Douro River, is the Scenic Aria. This ship offers an ultra-luxury experience and joins the Scenic Azure in Portugal. Both vessels will operate signature itineraries – the 11-Day Unforgettable Douro and 8-Day Delightful Douro. Travellers will enjoy more opportunities to experience the beauty of the Douro River on one of the most all-inclusive cruises in Europe.
Scenic Spirit II
The Scenic Spirit II will launch in early 2028 on the Mekong River. After a notable increase in demand, Scenic Cruises will be expanding its fleet on the Mekong River – flowing through Vietnam and Cambodia. This new vessel will offer travellers more opportunities to discover the culture, landscapes, and authentic lifestyle found in Southeast Asia.
What Else is New From Scenic Group?
These recent announcements have built on Scenic Group’s previously confirmed new ships, the Emerald Astra (which will launch in May 2026 on the RhineMain and Danube) and the Emerald Lumi (which will launch on the Seine River in France in 2027).
“With Scenic Ikon in build for delivery in 2028 and five Emerald Cruises yachts and river ships already confirmed, this announcement marks the next phase of our strategic fleet growth,” added Moroney.
