What to Expect from the Oceania Sonata

This new ship class marks the ninth vessel in the brand’s fleet. The Oceania Sonata will commence its inaugural voyage in August of next year – and according to Oceania, the ship will be the most spacious and amenity-rich to date. As reported by Oceania, 30% of the accommodations onboard are standard suites, however, the Oceania Sonata will also debut two brand-new categories, as well as a reimagined Owner’s Suite. Each suite and stateroom will sport a private and spacious veranda area.

The onboard experience will consist of various dining venues. Guests can enjoy ten culinary experiences, from past favourites to all-new concepts. Taste new flavours at several specialty dining venues such as Jacques (the cruise line’s well-known French restaurant), pan-Asian Red Ginger, Polo Grill steakhouse, and Toscana. This is all accompanied by the unique public spaces that Oceania Cruises has become known to have onboard, like the iconic Grand Dining Room.

The Future of the Oceania Sonata

“Each new ship offers an opportunity to reimagine and perfect the travel experience, and as the inaugural vessel of our Sonata Class, Oceania Sonata embodies our vision for the future – one defined by a passion for exquisite cuisine, exceptional service and immersive travel experiences,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer for Oceania Cruises.

The Oceania Sonata celebrated its naming ceremony last week in Miami. The first vessel is currently under construction by the shipbuilder behind the cruise line’s Oceania Marina, Riviera, Vista, and Allura. Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups.

Oceania Cruises will first offer a digital preview of the Sonata Class vessel very soon. Additional details on the exclusive, never-before-featured-at-sea dining venues, and more experiences will be revealed in the coming months.
