More on the Star Seeker

This all-suite ship is the first newbuild in Windstar’s new Star Class fleet and was recently christened at an event in Miami. After which the vessel embarked on an eight-night christening journey from Miami to San Juan, where it docked in destinations across the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands.

Standouts from the Star Seeker are the five dining venues (which include a new specialty restaurant called Basil + Bamboo), upgraded amenities, a full-service spa, and a reimagined Marina with direct ocean access.

Libby Anschutz, daughter of Windstar owner Phil Anschutz and godmother to the Star Seeker, attended the ship’s christening in Miami. As with maritime tradition, Anschutz shared her well wishes for the yacht and its future guests. Then continued to break a champagne bottle against the hull and formally name the vessel.

The Future of the Star Seeker & Star Class

Later this year, the Star Seeker will set sail across the Caribbean and Alaska before heading to Japan and Southeast Asia. Where the ship has itineraries in Thailand and Vietnam. In December of this year, the vessel’s sister ship, the Star Explorer, will also make its debut. These ships mark an expansion for Windstar’s small-ship experiences in Europe’s rivers, city centres, and hard-to-reach ports.

Christopher Prelog (Windstar President) shared, “It’s the way you feel when you are on board a Windstar ship. The smiles from the crew, the genuine conversation, the kindness and caring that flows through the ship every day. This is the Windstar culture that’s been part of the company since it began with two small sailing ships, and it continues today.”
