Our Product Manager, Michaela, had the chance to step onboard the Seabourn Quest from Bali to Cairns. This 10-day journey stopped in some amazing places, like Komodo Island, Pink Beach and Darwin.
Seabourn offers a commitment to inclusion, luxury and sophistication. With a variety of top-quality restaurants, bars and lounges, and a range of suites available, Michaela was looking forward to trying out the product herself. Make sure to check out our Seabourn offers or contact a Tour + Cruise Specialist for more itineraries available.

Seabourn Quest Welcome and Staff

From the moment I boarded the Seabourn Quest in Bali, I could tell we were in for a lavish stay! The ship’s intimate atmosphere, elegant design and relaxed luxury feel made for a refined, yet country club vibe. I arrived in my suite, and was treated to a bottle of champagne and told I could order caviar whenever I felt the need.
During meal times, the staff were quick to learn which wines were my preferred and the sommelier in the restaurant was very knowledgeable. I was expecting a higher level of service from the staff, based on all the lovely things I have heard in the past. Other than that, I was very impressed with everything that we experienced onboard. The overall highlight was a signature experience known as Caviar in the Surf (which we had in the pool). This is where the uniformed staff jumped in the pool with a surfboard, then served the guests caviar from it!

Accommodation Onboard
The all-suite accommodation is generous in size, offering walk-in closets and luxurious bathrooms with double sinks. I was lucky enough to be located in a Verandah Suite, featuring a full length window, glass door to a private verandah, comfortable living area (which can be separated from the bedroom with a curtain), fully stocked bar and refrigerator.
I also checked out a Signature Suite which was really spacious and featured a separate bedroom. But could also be interconnected with a Verandah Suite to make a Grand Signature Suite. This suite felt ultra luxurious and had so much space. You could have stayed in the suite for days, and never have to leave! There was a separate kitchenette, dining and lounge room so you could definitely entertain guests in this suite.

Alongside those options, there are also Ocean View Suites, Penthouse Suite / Penthouse Spa Suite, Owners Suite or Wintergarden Suites which can be turned into an interconnecting Grand Wintergarden Suite.
Dining Onboard Seabourn
The dining was a treat every night with the food and service always feeling very personalised. The multiple venues meant we were always spoilt for choice. I loved the fine dining/speciality restaurant, Solis, which wasn’t an extra cost. I also enjoyed Earth + Ocean which included fresh dishes from around the world, served on the pool deck. Seabourn Square was a cute, inviting, sociable space that felt like a European coffee bar. The Colonnade was more casual and great for ocean views. Other dining areas onboard include Sushi in The Club, The Restaurant, The Patio and in-suite dining is also available.

All drinks were included any time, and we never went hungry, that’s for sure! My favourite restaurant was Solis, closely followed by The Restaurant for dinner. For lunch I always wanted something lighter so generally ate at Earth + Ocean around the pool or Colonnades for a casual buffet.
Onboard Activities
The ship itself takes 458 guests at maximum. Whilst it was full while we were onboard, there were so many different spaces to find a quiet corner that it never felt too busy. There were so many onboard activities to stay entertained during sea days. This was great, as there were 6 of these on our itinerary.
You could choose from grabbing a book from the library in Seabourn Square or participating in Trivia in The Club, or playing bridge or board games in the Card Room. I didn’t frequent the casino at all, but it’s there if you are interested in that. It only operates in international waters though. There really wasn’t any time to be bored if you didn’t want to just relax.
One of the things that stood out to me was how many people were mingling all around the ship at different times of the day. This was once they’d met their neighbours, it was great seeing everyone get involved in all different forms of activities.

Whether you wanted to sun yourself whilst sipping on cocktails or engage with the Seabourn conversationalists in a lecture- there was a range of activities.
Onboard Facilities
There are two pools onboard, plus a Whirlpool which meant there were plenty of different areas for people to relax. Overall, there were four different outdoor spaces where guests could relax on a sunbed and chill or read a book. Although it was very hot on some days given we were in Northern Australia! But what more could you ask for when being by the pool.

At night, there is always entertainment in The Grand Salon. This ranges from a solo pianist or the Seabourn Six or a guitarist. They were always highly entertaining and started at 9.30pm each night. Afterwards, you could enjoy a quiet night with a pianist in The Observation Lounge. Or if you were after something a little more upbeat, you could head to The Club where there were live bands each night, playing an array of different tunes.

I had time on the sea days to really explore the ship and enjoyed the array of onboard facilities. A highlight for me was also the Personal Trainer, who takes daily classes. I chose to do a pilates and stretching class- I even got a couple of sessions in the gym!

The Swedish massage and Sauna was a great way to relax. You could pay extra to spend a day or have a whole cruise pass to the Serene Spa. This features a steam room and sauna, plus heated beds, but I didn’t think the cost was worth it. It would have been nice if this was included in the price of the massage.
Shore Excursions with Seabourn
One of the greatest strengths of the Seabourn Quest is its ability to access smaller ports and unique destinations, allowing guests to enjoy immersive itineraries with fewer crowds. Shore excursions are well-organised and cater to a variety of interests, while the optional Marina platform (when conditions permit) adds a fun, adventurous element to the voyage. We were lucky enough to stop in Komodo Island and Darwin on our voyage and the disembarkation process was seamless.

Overall, Seabourn Quest delivers a consistently high-end, personalised cruise experience. Ideal for travellers seeking understated luxury, exceptional service, and destination-focused itineraries. I would confidently recommend this ship to discerning clients who value comfort, elegance, and a truly inclusive luxury experience.
