Our Tour + Cruise team members, Michaela, Amanda and Anjelica, had the chance to check out the Silversea Silver Nova ship on an inspection in Adelaide.
Joining the fleet in 2023, the Silver Nova only has room for 728 guests. Its asymmetrical design offers an immersive destination experience for all guests to enjoy panoramic views. Our Tour + Cruise Manager, Genevieve, also sailed the Silver Nova earlier this year- read her full review here. Silversea Cruises offer all-inclusive luxury sailing and a range of itineraries to all 7 continents.

Silver Nova Ship Layout

Upon arrival, I was surprised at how large the ship was considering the smaller number of guests. Being an ocean cruise ship, it boasts lots of space per guest. The latest flagship leads the fleet in outstanding public spaces, 13 suite types, nine dining venues and a number of bars and lounges.
I found it interesting how most of the public spaces were positioned at the aft of the ship, rather than the front. In particular the Panorama Lounge and the La Terrezza outdoor dining. Only the Observatory Lounge is positioned at the front of the ship on Deck 10. It didn’t bother me, but I know people enjoy forward-facing spaces for the views- especially when pulling up to port. On the Silver Nova ship, there is only one main pool, located halfway down the ship but positioned off to the side. This makes for great ocean views whilst you enjoy a dip! There is also a whirlpool on the top deck positioned at the side for incredible views.

All suites are positioned from Decks 6-9 which means you get these elongated halls that span from one end of the ship to the other. It looks very beautiful, but it could be annoying for those who need to go between suites. There are a range of suites that span from the front to the aft, all offering a Veranda with patio furniture and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The lead-in suites are positioned at the front of the ship (with a select few near the aft), while the higher suite categories are positioned at the rear. To be honest, it doesn’t really matter where your suite is situated as these ships have stabilisers so there shouldn’t be much movement.
Dining areas are located across a number of decks, with nine venues to choose from. Plus, there’s a range of outdoor seating options for you to enjoy your dining experience. From the cosy La Dame, serving up French delicacies, to The Marquee, a stunning outdoor eatery- there are several spaces for you to dine in.
Dining Onboard the Silver Nova Ship
Silversea is renowned for its ultra all-inclusive dining. Their S.A.L.T program is focused on immersing guests in the local food and culture of their destinations- standing for Sea and Land Taste. It includes onboard experiences like the S.A.L.T. Kitchen, S.A.L.T. Bar, and S.A.L.T. Lab for cooking classes. Other restaurants onboard include:
- Atlantide: Classic fine dining
- La Terrezza: Italian featuring outdoor dining
- La Dame: French fine dining
- Kaiseki: Enhanced Japanese cuisine
- Silver Note: Jazz style bar and dining
- The Marquee: Smaller, classic bites open early morning to late evening

As a part of the inspection, the whole group were able to have lunch at their signature restaurant, Atlantide. We were given a four-course meal and sparkling wine as we pleased! The appetiser was Beef and Artichoke Carpaccio which just melted in my mouth! Next was a Roast Honey Glazed Pear Salad which was the perfect balance of sweet, crispy and fresh.

The highlight was definitely the Whole Roasted Fillet of Prime American Beef. The chefs cooked it perfectly as I requested and it was so full of flavour I didn’t need to add any seasoning. Keep in mind that these portion sizes are on the smaller side, but the great thing about all-inclusive is that you can always order more! We finished with a Lemon Meringue Pie- an outstanding dessert with the perfect blend of zest, crunch and meringue.

Standout Facilities
The entire ship boats a new vision of luxury, with grand decor, light-filled spaces and suites with 270-degree views. Onboard, I love how there is butler service for each suite- this marks an exceptionally personalised experience. Although I didn’t quite get to experience it, just walking throughout the halls the staff were incredibly friendly.
Onboard, there are several public areas and standout facilities available for guests to use. From a relaxed pool area, to a secret, hidden library…each area felt like they had a place onboard. One of my favourite parts was that every space felt designed to suit that room’s atmosphere. The hidden Observatory Library had an interchangeable light reflecting different times of day on the starry – sky ceiling giving such a feeling of peace. The Otium Spa was also a highlight featuring a centrepiece with champagne bottles on ice, a sauna and a thermal pool. Small details like this really make for an elevated feel.

All in all, guests can expect a number of standout facilities:
- Outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool
- Observation Lounge with incredible views at the front of the ship
- A hidden library
- A full-scale arts, theatre and music lounge
- Luxury shopping in the Boutique
- Otium Spa with massages, facials, beauty therapy, a gym, sauna, steam room, thermal pool
- Personal trainers, specialty fitness classes
- Casino

Bars, Lounges and Entertainment Spaces
One of my favourite aspects about the Silver Nova ship is how each space is unique. There are plenty of bars, lounges and entertainment areas for passengers. I really appreciated how different they all are from each other- all serving a different purpose. Take the Arts Cafe for example, it offers a casual setting for eating, drinking and socialising. But it’s packed with intricate decor, eccentric furniture and full of books about artists and art. Serving up everything from pastries (that change every 2 hours) to Italian espresso, this cafe lounge was a standout for me. `

Passengers can also enjoy a range of spaces including;
- Dusk Bar: An open-air sky bar
- S.A.L.T Bar: Featuring complimentary cocktails
- S.A.L.T Lab: Cooking classes led by Hosts
- The Shelter: The newest pre/post dinner cocktail venue
- Panorama Lounge: A beautiful outdoor retreat
- Connoisseur’s Corner: Serving up the finest cognac and whiskey
- Observation Lounge: Exceptional views at the front of the ship, plus games to enjoy

Silver Nova Ship Suites
There are 13 different suite categories to choose from on a Silver Nova cruise. We popped into three of the most popular suites and were really impressed.
Classic Veranda Suite
What’s interesting about this suite is that it’s an exact replica of the Deluxe Veranda Suite- it’s just the location that differs. This is the lead in category, located at the bow and aft of the ship. With butler service, a queen sized bed, marble bathroom and a private teak veranda… I found this incredible as the lead in. I was happy to see a curtain divider between the bed and sitting area. This means one person can be enjoying the TV, whilst the other may want to sleep in peace. The bathroom was of a decent size, and it was nice to see a separate shower. The veranda was also a really good size.

Premium Medallion
The Premium Medallion is set amongst the middle of the higher-tier cabins. It has similar features to the best-selling Medallion Suite, but just has the optimal location at the aft. I was impressed with the generous interior and space of the balcony. With sliding doors to close off the bedroom, it feels more like a luxury hotel than a cabin on a ship! This suite also has a full-size bathtub and walk-in wardrobe, giving it a cosy homely feel.

Master Suite
This suite is available only on the Silver Nova, Silver Ray and Silver Endeavour. It’s positioned perfectly at the aft in the corner, offering an even bigger and more private veranda. This suite has a separate bedroom to the lounge room, and an incredible marble bathroom. Enjoy a whirlpool bath, two flat-screen TVs, plus plenty of onboard services and amenities exclusive to this suite. This suite had grand finishes, views from the bedroom and my personal favourite- a walk-in wardrobe with a large vanity and mirror.
